1. Our Privacy Approach
SpaceWise is designed to help you understand, organize, and optimize storage on your device. We use device permissions only to provide the features you choose to use.
Your personal photos, videos, contacts, and files are not intentionally uploaded to SpaceWise servers to perform the core optimization features.
2. Permissions
SpaceWise may request access to protected device resources depending on the feature you use. You can grant, limit, or revoke these permissions through your device settings.
3. Photos & Videos
With your permission, SpaceWise may access your Photos library to:
- Analyze photo and video storage usage.
- Find duplicate and similar photos.
- Identify Live Photos and screenshots.
- Compress selected photos and videos.
- Calculate estimated and actual storage savings.
- Replace or delete media when you explicitly request the action.
4. Contacts
If you grant Contacts permission, SpaceWise can analyze your contacts to identify potential duplicates and help you review and remove contacts you select.
Contacts access is not required for photo, video, or basic storage-analysis features.
5. Files & Folders
When you select a file or folder for SpaceWise to analyze, the app may access the selected content to:
- Identify file types and sizes.
- Display file information.
- Generate supported previews.
- Help identify files you may no longer need.
- Delete files that you explicitly select.
SpaceWise does not automatically scan folders you have not authorized or selected.
6. On-Device Processing
SpaceWise is designed so that core storage analysis, duplicate detection, and media optimization can be performed directly on your device.
For example, duplicate-photo analysis can be performed against media available through your Photos library. Photo and video optimization can be performed locally before a replacement is made.
7. Deletion & Replacement
SpaceWise does not automatically delete your personal content without your action.
For optimization features, SpaceWise is designed to create the optimized version before replacing the original wherever technically possible. If an optimization operation fails, the original should remain unchanged.
Photos and videos deleted through Apple's Photos framework may remain in Recently Deleted according to Apple's system behavior. Permanently removing those items may be required before the associated storage is fully recovered.
8. Third-Party Services
SpaceWise may use Apple frameworks and, depending on the version of the application, third-party services for analytics, diagnostics, customer support, subscriptions, or other functionality.
Third-party services may process information according to their own privacy policies. Your App Store privacy disclosures should reflect the services actually included in the current version of SpaceWise.
9. Security & Retention
We take reasonable measures to protect information processed by SpaceWise. Core media processing is designed to occur locally on your device, so SpaceWise does not need to maintain copies of your personal media on a server to provide those features.
Local app settings and cached information may remain on your device until removed by the app, cleared where supported, or the app is uninstalled.
10. Children's Privacy
SpaceWise is not specifically directed toward children under the age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the SpaceWise service.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
